Karissa's sire, Kalypso, was by the stakes-winning European thoroughbred Kronenkranich, a descendant of Bold Ruler. Bold Ruler was 1957 Horse of the Year, 1958 Champion Sprinter, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1973, and was the leading general sire for eight years, including his Triple Crown winning son, Secretariat. Karissa's dam sire, Nebelhorn, finished first in his 1981 stallion performance test with scores of 8+ on his gaits, and 8.67 on cross country and stadium jumping. Nebelhorn exemplified versatility, winning a USDF bronze medal at Grand Prix, an individual silver medal at the Olympics Sports Festival in 1986, and winning three hunter championships at the Santa Barbara National in 1991.
Daulton is incredibly friendly, displaying a quiet and trainable mind. He is a stunning mover, combining the athleticism and modern type from his dam lineage with the grace and substance of his sire. Daulton has many half siblings that have excelled in a variety of disciplines including three day eventing, dressage, hunters, and jumpers. We expect him to be equally talented and multifaceted. Daulton is expected to mature 16.2+ hands.
